Now in a moment you are going to let go of your brand

Put it down, now slowly step away from the brand.

Slowly now...not too fast.  There.  It was not that hard was it?

Most owners have managed to literally extract blood from a stone when it comes to their brand and are not willing to let it go.  Granted that some people do best when they are in control, eg Richard Branson -Virgin and Steve Jobs at Apple.  So what is brand management?

Brand management is the application of marketing techniques to a specific product, product service, or personality.

Yes we understand that when you make the baby its kind of hard to put it down and let someone else take care of it.  However thats not always the case. Some people thrive on other peoples idea's.

So how do you cope.  I'd like to hear your experience.  What makes your brand need you as an owner?

If you are managing someone else's brand I'd like to hear from you too.  When is it okay to tell the boss his logo that he carefully made up in Word in 1999 has to go?  Are you at a disadvantage or does someone need to grow some?

Talk to me guys, tell it like it is.
